It was a beautiful, sunny day the Saturday after Thanksgiving, a perfect day for Joe Williams and his team, mostly his sons, to erect our steel columns and beams. We’d already had the steel cut, drilled and powder coated with a gorgeous oil-rubbed bronze finish so it was ready to go. Measure twice, cut once is the rule and in this case, they used a laser level so the structure is the perfect height to set our composite decking on.
It took all morning but the installation went beautifully. I have to thank our architect, Steve Deckard of Keystone Architects and the folks at DeVille Steel for managing all those construction details so everything fit like a glove. I was really nervous but trusted to the professionals and was not disappointed!
We’ve got some landscaping to do and we plan to install the railing posts next, then the decking which is a beautiful composite material, by the end of the year if we get some decent weather. Stay tuned, I’ll keep you posted on our progress!
