We’ve been looking through our archives over the winter and ran across this great photo taken just before we bought the Firehouse and vacant lot you see here back in 1995. This is where the building next door burned down in about 1987; it was this fire that caused the Fire Department to relocate several blocks to the west. The building itself and the lot sat pretty much vacant before we purchased it and began, bit by bit to restore and revitalize both areas and prepare them for an entirely new and different life that looks more like this:
Today, we are so proud that both the Historic Firehouse No2 and the adjoining Garden Courtyard are beautiful and popular destinations. It has been a very long, expensive and tedious process, full of setbacks and yet so personally rewarding as this historic facility continues to make new friends and introduces so many new families to the world. We still have lots of great ideas and plans for our Garden Courtyard, Main Hall, Second Story and Catering Facilities…plans that you’ll see unfold one small project at a time, just as our Garden Courtyard has grown so beautifully…don’t you agree?
